Wow, it's been a while

I just realized it has been like forever since I blogged last so I guess I will just blog about what I've been doing.

School has been busy, studying for SATs, student council and honor society fundraisers.

Then there's the haunted house. My dad's business that he owns with my uncles puts on a free haunted house the last part of October. So the beginning of October, I helped set it up and then the end of last month I helped work in it. It's fun, some people that go are a little weird, but it's still fun.

I've been distracted with my pregnant potential step sister (she's a little younger then me). She can't stand the father, he's not interested in being a father, she's not interested in him being a father, she has health issues so she shouldn't even be pregnant, she thought she miscarried but she really didn't but is bleeding regularly, and she's starting to show and is not too happy about it.

I might help my boyfriend with some volunteer work he does at the park. They are sponsoring this sort of Santa mystery hunt and my bf and his geek friends help decorate and set up the park things so he is working on that now. It's kinda fun so I might help.

I work for my aunt's at home bakery and we've been busy working on Thanksgiving items. Who knew one could have so many varities and flavors of pumpkin pie. haha

That's all for now. Come back later for some Archie, yes always Archie, news!

Too Old To Be A Flower Girl?

I am 16, I will be 17 in a couple months. My uncle is getting married next month and I secretly want to be the flower girl. I don't know or like his girlfriend nearly enough to be a maid of honor, so flower girl is really the only thing left.

I don't really want to or think I should be the flower girl, but in a way I have this hidden desire to. I have joked around about it with my uncle a little bit and he said "ok, fine you can be the flower girl". Of course I said I was just joking, but I think he slightly thought I was being serious.

I'm not sure why I secretly want this. I think maybe it's more a desire to be included. My nephew (he turned 2 in August) is going to be the ring bearer, and I think I feel a little out. I've always been a little favored or babied by my uncle.

I know if I really begged, he would actually let me, but I'd be way too embarrassed. Do you think it would be totally ridiculous seeing a teenage flower girl?

Too Young for a Long Term Boyfriend?

So today was my dad's birthday party, tomorrow is his birthday. A couple of my dad's cousins showed up. We hadn't seem them for a while, they live a few hours away. Anyways, one of them has a son a couple years older than me so I was talking to him for a while.

He said I was way too young to be involved with my boyfriend for so long and that I should date around for a while until I am at least in college.

A little back history: I am 16 and my boyfriend is 20 (I will be 17 on New Year's Eve). We started dating like casually over 3 years ago and exclusively for over 2 years). My cousin says that I will regret not being able to "date around" in high school.

I really do not think that will happen. I kind of messed around with a lot of other guys before I started dating him and I am happy with us being together.

I can honestly say I do not miss a thing about not dating boys from my school.

Halloween Costume Here I Come

I have been debating about a Halloween costume. I am 16. I don't trick or treat. I might pass out some candy. I may or may not go to a Halloween party. Any Halloween events I would go to, I don't need a costume. And I already have a pumpkin fairy costume for my dad's haunted house I help with.

But then I saw this while browsing through cute costumes. It must be mine. I've never actually seen Rainbow Bright so I am not a fan of the show, but I LOVE this costume. It shall be mine!

Oh No Archie Say It's Not So.

As apparent through my blog, I have a slight David Archuleta obsession. Well did would be the better word.

I read two things about him recently that have me so confused. First, he prefers blondes. Ingrid is not blonde. Although, he himself may not have said this. It could have come from Pappa Jeff.

Then, the worst part. He is republican. He was supposed to be performing at some republican convention thing. He probably supports Palin. Ugh.

Oh well. I can still look at Hayden.

Look at the cuteness

I found this tonight and I love it so much I had to blog about it.

I usually make my own jewelry, but I am awful with polymer clay. Look at all those little pumpkins. The designer must have spent a lot of time adding all the little faces and textured detail.

I might just have to get it!

"Going Gay"?

Can a bad experience with the opposite sex make one turn to homosexuality?

I ask because my boyfriends brother is now involved with another guy, they are both 17.

He was pretty popular with girls and I never would have thought he would be bi or gay, so I was really surprised.

My step sister had a little thing with him a couple years ago and when she found out she joked that she "turned him". But being more serious, he did recently have a pretty hard break-up with his last girlfriend. That makes me wonder if maybe he was just tired of the drama with girls.

No matter what the reason though, he does seem very happy in his new relationship.

And they said no one would listen to him

David Archuleta recently released his first single. I remember during the AI season, many said that he shouldn't win because no one will buy or listen to his stuff. Well, they couldn't have been more wrong. Here are a few stats about "Crush".

1. Crush is the highest new entry on the Hot 100 of 2008.

2. Crush is the highest debut ever for an American Idol song not performed on the series.

3. Archie’s highest position to date is higher than David Cook's. Cook’s first single (performed in the finale), “Time of My Life” peaked at #3 on the Hot 100

4. Crush debuted at No. 1 on Hot Digital Songs.

I encourage everyone to listen to it if you haven't already.

Blonsky's Brawl

I've recently been watching and enjoying the movie Hairspray so this caught my attention. Nikki Blonsky, her dad, ANTM contestent Bianca Golden and her mother were involved in a fight at a Turks and Caicos Islands airport.

I have no idea what the fight was about, but Nikki and Bianca were arrested and released, Nikki's dad is still in jail (he was just denied bail) and Bianca's mother is in the hospital with head trauma.

If anyone has any idea what caused the fight, post a comment here and let me know.

Guys, Just Don't Do It

Okay, this is not about my boyfriend, I somehow seemed to have found a really great guy that I am in no way good enough for. But this is about a friend/housemate/potential step sister of mine. Lately she has been having a bit of trouble with the opposite sex.

1. If you still have feelings for your gf, do NOT tell her it would be good to see other people.

2. After you and that gf are seeing other people, do NOT call her, tell her how much you miss her, get her to go out with you again, have sex with her, and then tell her that you thought you two were casually hanging out, but you still want to date other people.

3. Do NOT go out with a girl, ask her out again, tell her again and again how much you like her, and then say "oops I lied, I don't like you at all."

4. Do NOT make plans to be online at a certain time so you can make plans for an actual date later, this certain time being a time very inconvenient for her, never get on, and then the next day go "oops sorry, forgot, was watching Hitman with my dad".

5. Do NOT daily call her your dearest dear, darling, love, etc., tell her how much you miss her, tell her how special she is to you, and then tell your friends she means nothing to you.

6. Do NOT tell her step sister you are just keeping her around because the sex is awesome and then expect for her to not take that offensively.

7. Do NOT get mad at her, drop her off your friends list, stop talking to her, and then tell everyone else that she is the one who hurt you.

8. Do NOT take her to your best female's friend's house for sex and then not defend her when said friend calls her a slut, whore, insert insult of choice.

9. Do NOT tell everyone that she is just a gorgeous face with nothing else good about her except to make you look good. Sure girls like being told they are pretty, but not that way.

10. Do NOT pretend to be this sweet, nice sensitive guy who is not like the other guys who mistreat her. Get her to finally trust you, get her to have sex with you thinking that you finally like her for more than friends, and then say, "oh I thought we were just friends, I don't like you that way, we've never really connected."

Now, I am not saying girls are never to blame, but seriously guys, just don't do it!

So Yeah

My blog is sort of well, how can I say this. FUGLY.

How do I change it?

I can change the templates here.

But none are really what I would call cute.

I can change the font colors, but still the background lacks cutability.

Anyone have any ideas how I can cuten this thing up a bit??

David Archuleta Proves Himself To Be The Best!

So the reviews are out for the American Idol concert and finally people are seeing the truth. Despite the fact that Cook fans were bragging about what a great performer he is and how boring Archie is, Archie has shown that not only is he the superior vocalist, he is also better live.

This is quoted from one review:

----------------------------

"Archuleta easily topped this crop as he poured himself into wining versions of Robbie Williams' "Angels" and Josh Groban's "When You Say You Love Me." His earnest, sincere delivery perfectly matches this type of adult-contemporary material."

"The last to take the stage was Cook, who greeted fans with his now-famously subdued rock version of Lionel Richie's "Hello." He would give the same treatment to Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean." Both were bores."

----------------------------------

So hopefully I will be able to catch David Archie showing what he's got sometime this summer

So the truth comes out...

as if no one knew.

Apparently Chris Brown's mother has totally outed Chris and Rihanna. Joyce Hawkins, Chris's mother was overheard saying, "Rihanna is the sexiest and sweetest girl Chris has ever dated." (As if)

Chris recently said "Our relationship is growing. We started off as friends and we’re getting a little bit closer now." Friends? Getting a little closer? Yeah, right. If you calling cleaning someones tonsils with your tongue friends, then maybe.

He also said "My mom is real cool about it all." Awww, he still cares about what his mama says. Isn't he sweet. Rihanna, not so sweet.

Oh well, at least Archie is still single.

My New Dress

My new summer dress arrived today. I can't wait to wear it, well once the sling comes off and I can get rid of the wrap around my ribcage, I am sure it will look adorable.

I normally like shorter and brighter dresses. But something about this dress called to me. I got it from Delia's and I had a coupon code to get it 30% off.

It's casual enough that I can probably wear it anywhere, but it's also a little fancier so I can wear it when I want to dress up a little bit. Also I love the red and blue embroidery because I am going to be wearing it for 4th of July barbecues.

Now, I also got some lucite beads in those colors and I am making a bracelet and necklace to go with it, hopefully I can get a picture to post of them when I'm done. Now for the shoes I am still deciding between tan sandals and white wedge slides. Any suggestions?

Watch Your Step

So, I was at my aunt and uncle's house this morning getting ready to help her with the cupcakes. It was still pretty early and my dad was still there, he and my uncle were going to go into work together.

I heard the dog barking at something under the deck and tried to see what it was. I couldn't see from on top of the deck, so instead I went around to the side of the house and tried standing on this wooden plank thing and looking under it.

The next thing I know I'm on the cement landing between the house and the neighbor's house and I'm not feeling good.

So we are waiting for definite X-ray results. I reinjured a broken arm from last year, my ankle could be fractured, and I may have 2 broken ribs.

But at least I found out what the dog was barking at.

Cupcake Anyone?

Ok, so I have been working for my aunt. She runs a little at home bakery, she's mostly busy around the holidays. So starting in June, we have been working on 4th of July things.

They are really the cutest, I thought the Halloween was cute. Then, no the Christmas is much cuter, then the Easter bunnies, but I have to say the red, white, and blue is really too adorable.

This week we've been working on cupcake samples. OMG, they are so cute, they really do look too good to eat. A lot are the typical red, white, and blue with stars, but some are really unique. Unlike cupcakes you've ever seen.

They are so irresistible looking that my gay cousin ran in and grabbed not one, but two when we weren't looking!

(The picture shows her last year cupcakes, we didn't get any from this year yet)

Idol Gives Back...Sometimes

Hi and welcome to the premier post of Ingrid's Interesting Items. The topic for today is the kindness of David Archuleta (the true American Idol 7 winner) and the hypocrisy of American Idol.

We've all heard about Idol Gives Back, the big 2 hour show Idol puts on to showcase their random acts of hospitality. But I guess the giving only happens when it looks good for them.

David and his dad/manager/stagemom had planned a sort of thank you concert for his fans in Utah. All the proceeds were to be donated to the Multiple Sclerosis Society and Make-a-Wish Foundation.

Well, apparently his father did not clear it with Idol producers who are saying it violates "contractual obligations" and they have to postpone it.

Now, David is not making any money off this concert so it's not like the Idol producers will be out anything. I find it very disappointing that they are not allowing him to do this thing for charity. Maybe they need to remind themselves what giving back is about.
